LightFest 2017, a festival of fellowship, food and faith for the Christian community of Fox Valley, was held at RiverEdge Park in Aurora, IL, on Sunday, August 13, 2017.  At LightFest 2017, God’s vison was birthed, the results of our work were rewarding and our future was made clear.   

God’s VISION

“LightFest is a festival of fellowship, food and faith for the Christian community of Fox Valley; where the light of the world comes together in the city of lights.”
 
Jesus commanded us:  
¹⁴ “You are the light of the world—like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden. ¹⁵ No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house. ¹⁶ In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father. Matthew 5:14–16 (NLT)
In light of recent national and world events, it was fitting that we all gather together to join our hearts and souls through a medium that is universal...MUSIC. Music transcends race, ethnic origin, and religion. It reaches deep down into the soul and taps into the part of each of us that knows unity, love and peace.  Our differences often divide us, but music is a universal language and has the power to join hearts and souls together.
On the largest stage in the city of Aurora, Christians from different races, denominations and churches came together to let our light shine bright for the whole world to see.     

 

OUR FUTURE

At LightFest 2017, our vison was birthed, the results of our work were rewarding and our future is clear.
 
It is our desire to continue to build upon the vision that God has given us to shine the light of our Christianity in Aurora through the fellowship, food and faith that LightFest offers.  We are so grateful for the vision being birthed, the results being rewarding and the community’s confidence that we should continue.
