“Push Through the Pain”

In order for women to bring new life into the world, they have to go through the birthing process.  And no matter how she delivers, that process is painful.  Yet, every day, all over the world, women are deciding – on purpose – to become pregnant and have children.  If it hurts so much, you have to wonder why they do it?  Why are women willing to go through nine months of the discomfort of pregnancy, followed by labor which will almost always last for hours, sometimes days, in order to bring a new life into the world?

In spite of the pain, there is nothing more amazing than the gift of new life.  The entire concept is beyond our full understanding.  So, women count fingers and toes, they check eyes and noses, the look for birthmarks, to assure themselves that all with well with their new baby boy or girl.  They are fascinated by the little person that they have delivered.  Though some would say something different, most women will tell you that the gift of life was worth the pain they went through in order to deliver.

In the 66th chapter of Isaiah, God uses the birthing process to explain to us that He will not allow His people to go through pain without causing “something new to be born”.  The pain hurts, but it is a natural part of the birthing process.  We desperately seek God for deliverance when we are going through pain.  But we should get excited because the pain of our trials is a necessary part of the birthing process for the new thing that God is getting ready to do in our lives.

We do not know the time of our delivery of the spiritual gifts and blessings given to us.  Yet, our maturation and ultimate delivery is as certain as a woman’s pregnancy and delivery.  Wait on it.  It will come to pass.  If you are pregnant with possibility, get ready to push!  It’s time for the glory of the Lord to burst forth in and on your life.  It will hurt, and you may need a little help, but no worries.  The Holy Spirit is the best midwife coach you could ever have.  He will guide you through the process.  Relax, breathe, and push your way through.  The rewards of “something new to be born” will be worth it.

18: Do not remember the former things, nor consider the things of old.
19: Behold, I will do a new thing, now it shall spring forth; shall you not know it?...
Isaiah 43 (NKJV)

7: “A woman does not give birth before she feels the pain;
she does not give birth to a son before the pain starts.
8: No one has ever heard of that happening; no one has ever seen that happen….
9: In the same way I will not cause pain without allowing something new
to be born,” says the Lord.  “If I cause you the pain,
I will not stop you from giving birth to your new nation,” says your God.
Isaiah 66 (NCV)

Father, thank You for the promise that after the pain, you will allow  “something new to be born” in our lives.  We don’t want to go through the pain of the process, but we know that it is necessary in order to birth new life.  Help us to rest in the faithfulness of Your promise that it will come in due time.  We are ready, just waiting on You to tell us to PUSH!  In  Jesus’ name.  Amen.

Selah ~~ Think on this!!!
“Childbirth is fundamentally a spiritual, as well as a physical, achievement.
The birth of a child is the ultimate perfection of human love.”
(Dr. Grantly Dick-Read, 1953)

Be blessed in the Lord!
